The Cleveland Indians. What is the argument to keep the name? The Braves, Chiefs, Blackhawks, and Seminoles are in a different acceptable category. The Washington Football Team was in a slur category of their own. The Cleveland Indians literally are a name of a race of people. Why keep it?

The stubbornness to keep the name and the faux outrage to hold on to history, tradition, and pride is a misguided effort. An entire race of people finds the name offensive. This is one battle the Cleveland ball club needs to come to terms with. A key step was sunsetting Chief Wahoo. My oh my was that mascot racist. What if the mascot was a white man?

Can you imagine if they were called the Caucasians?! You are on deck for name change, Cleveland Indians.
