James Corden’s ‘spill your guts’ segment in the crosshairs of thin-skinned activist

Racism Score: 1.0

James Corden’s show has been targeted by part-time aspiring artist and full-time social justice warrior (SJW), Kim Saira. Recognizing her career as an artist was plateauing, Saria decided to create a TikTok about the ‘Spill your guts’ segment on The Late Late Show with James Corden, claiming the segment is racist.

Becoming a SJW and claiming racism is the quickest way to get attention to boost a career. The trick is to find something to virtue signal, claim racism, express how offended you are, explain that you are traumatized, and then make demands that are self-serving, yet make it appear to be for racial equality.

The reason Saira finds the segment so offensive is because she searched long and hard to find something to be offended by, then stumbled upon Corden’s segment where some of the items in the segment are Asian foods.

She decided to point out the few Asian foods in an otherwise exotic smorgasbord that may be delicacies around the world. One example is Balut.

Balut

Balut is described as a fertilized developing egg embryo that is boiled and eaten directly from the shell. Seems like an acquired taste in our opinion.

To provide an idea of the other foods in the segment, we compiled a comprehensive list of foods used over the years in the segment:

Now, from that list, which food items are off limits, so it is not offensive to Asians or any other race?

Chrissy Teigen participated in one of the segments and she is Asian. Does that mean she is racist against her own race? Was she aware how racist the segment was while she was eating beet worm salad with a wine vinaigrette, bull penis, and washing it down with a salmon, tuna & fisheye milkshake?

Or was she was just having fun (when she was not busy telling people to take dirt naps)?!

Other notable participants include Alicia Keys, Halle Berry, John Boyega, Chelsea Handler, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kendall Jennar, Kris Jenner, Will Ferrell, Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Jonas Brothers, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Drew Barrymore, Josh Gad, Kobe Bryant (RIH), Mila Kunis, and the chef of all chefs, Gordon Ramsey

We are curious if they should be condemned too for perpetuating “racist” Asian food stereotypes.

This type of faux outrage is a primary reason why some people stop paying attention to racist claims. Also, this seems like performative activism at it is finest.

The virtue signaling is interesting because Saira is aware performative actions like this does not help racial equality…as she explained during an April interview with the Asia Society.

She should have followed her own advice because in our opinion, this does not advance racial equality, diversity, equity, inclusion or any other buzz word.

To elevate her activism for change in the name of social justice, she started a change.org petition to remove the segment as she believes it contributes to Asian hate.

The correlation that this segment enhances Asian hate and Asian violence seems farfetched. The segment does however trigger thin-skinned people.

In the Twittersphere, a debate raged on about foods Asians eat that some people feel Saira should be more concerned with like cats and dogs. At first, we thought it was an intentional trolling racist trope, and even though we thought it was unnecessary to bring up cats and dogs, the user provided an interesting topic.

The user noted “Kaira conveniently leaves out plenty of people have problems with certain cultures (Asians) eating cats and dogs…but I bet she won’t say anything about that.”

For example, in 2017, the BBC reported “an estimated 30 million dogs across Asia, including stolen family pets, are still killed for human consumption every year, according to the Humane Society International.” An estimated 4 million cats a year are eaten in Asia alone per Vice.

USA Today reported South Koreans eat more than 2 million dogs a year, however, that is changing for the better as city’s are beginning to ban the consumption.

There is also the infamous Yulin dog meat festival, which is horrendous in our opinion, but acceptable in certain Asian cultures.

Unfortunately, the cat and dog topic is fair game because of Saria’s performative actions, she opened the door for trolls waiting to bring this up.

All in all, the segment is much to do about nothing in our opinion and it undermines racism. Actual advocacy work is hindered by nonsense like this but people will find any reason to be offended and this segment is insensitive at best.
