Kendall Jenner launches new Tequila brand and people lost their minds

The reason why some people have lost interest when they hear something is “racist” is due situations that just make you roll your eyes. Look no further than the bullshit “firestorm” engulfing Kendall Jenner.
The young, uber famous, at times controversial, and successful entrepreneur decided to dabble in distilling tequila. Jenner launched her own tequila brand called 818.
Plenty of famous people have launched tequila brands over the years including The Rock, George Clooney, Justin Timberlake, and Bethany Frankel to name a few. Also, how can you forget Turtle’s business venture on Entourage, Avion!
At no point did people seem to take umbrage with non-Mexican’s launching their Tequila brands. In this day and age though, if you are white, assume it ain’t right.
Meaning, if you are Caucasian, you need to check with every culture before you proceed with a business venture to ensure you are not appropriating culture because sensitivity is at an all-time high.
We do not believe this is cultural appropriation, let alone a racist act. Do you need to be Russian, Polish, or Swedish launch a Vodka brand? We think not.
This deserves a Stanley eyeroll.
While we do not think this equates to being a culture vulture , we always reserve the right to change our mind when new information becomes available. Although unlikely in this instance, InStyle makes some compelling points why celebrities launching Tequila brands may be problematic.
