Lee Co. Republicans call for Sonny Haas to leave party after racist email

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — One Lee County commissioner candidate is being asked to leave his party.

The chairman of the Lee County Republic Party, Jonathan Martin, issued a letter calling for Sonny Haas to leave the party.

The letter also called for Haas to leave the race for the District 5 county commission seat.

It goes on to say that the party supports people of all races and that it was shocked to hear that Haas used the “n” word in a recent email.
