Scott Disick and Brody Jenner use digital (insert color) face

Racism Score: 2.9

Scott Disick and Brody Jenner apparently missed the memo about racial portrayal. In particular, using blackface, brownface and yellowface in any capacity.

White people will always run into problems when it comes to changing their appearance to portray another another race.

Dear white people, we strongly urge you not to die on the racial portrayal hill. Blackface is racist. Brownface is racist. Yellowface is racist. Please, research, research, research.

Now, all that being said – are the actions Disick and Jenner took racist? You be the judge.

The pictures of Disick and Jenner in digital (insert color) face are technologically superb. From a racist standpoint in 2020, two strikingly handsome white males promoting the photo editing app Gradient with “racist” ads is something to behold.

Do we think Disick and Jennar are racist? No, we do not. We believe it is poor judgement. Kim Kardashian promoted the app earlier this year promoting a feature from the app that can trace your ancestry without promoting the controversial features.

The gaffes by Disick and Jenner are why some people question the sincerity of performative gestures by celebrities. Jenner was a part of the black square solidarity brigade, yet Jenner had no problem with digital blackface.

Is he down for the cause or not?!

Simple motto to live by – Just say NO to blackface, brownface, and yellowface!
