Trader Joe’s decides against changing names, we agree

Trader Joe’s came under a fire with some people demanding Trader Joe’s change their “racist” product labels. People with too much time on their hands manufactured a “racist” problem by creating a petition for the removal of product names such as Trader Ming’s, Trader José and Arabian Joe’s.

Trader Joe’s initial public statement expressed changes to the product labels were already in the works. One can only imagine sitting in a meeting having to discuss this fake outrage. Appropriately, Trader Joe’s had a change of heart and rightfully decided against changing the product labels.

“We want to be clear: we disagree that any of these labels are racist. We do not make decisions based on petitions.”

“We make decisions based on what customers purchase, as well as the feedback we receive from our customers and Crew Members. If we feel there is need for change, we do not hesitate to take action.”

Bravo, Trader Joe’s, Bravo!

P.S. If you have not tried Trader Ming’s, Mandarin Orange Chicken, you are missing out!
